A Note About These Resources

While we have read all of the books below and found them helpful, by sharing these, we are not saying that we agree with everything in each of the books or other works that the authors have done or do. We simply share them as some tools that have helped us think about and discuss the issues they address.   We are not afraid to learn from others and encourage one another to learn, but we must always come back to the truth of Scripture and God's Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth.

This book was helpful as we wrestled through what it could look like to live intentionally right where we were at.  They helped us begin some figuring out what it could look like to form meaningful and satisfying relationships while living at a pace of life that was sustainable.

This book was great for helping us learn how to have meaningful encounters with people.  It taught us to ask great questions and listen to others.  We love Bill's practical application and encouragement to "just walk across the room."  This book helped us learn how to have meaningful spiritual conversations and be vocal with God's love and kingdom.

Family

Ever had difficulty saying no?  Find yourself always stretched a little too thin?  Are boundaries selfish?  This book addresses those issues and so much more.  They deal with questions like:
  • Can I set limits and still be a loving person?
  • What are legitimate boundaries?  What if someone is upset or hurt by my boundaries?
  • How do I answer someone who wants my time, love, energy, or money?
  • Aren't boundaries selfish? Why do I feel guilty or afraid when I consider setting boundaries?

What if God didn't intend for marriage to make you happy, but instead holy.  This book helps you have a different and more full view of marriage.  It also can help you connect with one another better and deal with some of our disappointments.  We highly recommend the devotional as well.

this is a great resource couples have gone through  as a part of their premarital counseling.  This helps them when they feel as though their expectations haven't been met.  Ever felt disappointed in marriage?  This may be a helpful resource.
