Coming to a new place can sometimes be difficult, especially when that place is a church.  We don't think it has to be that way though.

So, no matter what your experience with churches or God has been in the past, we want to offer you a fresh encounter with God and his people. 
- To help make your time with us a little easier, below is a little bit of what to expect and some FAQ's -

WHAT TYPE OF CHURCH IS ENCOUNTER?

We're a group of people from all kinds of backgrounds who have a desire to have a fresh encounter with God and his people.   So whether you've never been to a church, had poor experiences in the past, or just looking for a fresh start - you are welcome at Encounter. 

When are services?

We meet on Sundays at 10:00 am.  The service lasts around 75 minutes.  Plan to come 10 minutes early.  That will give you plenty of time to grab some refreshments and connect with others!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Men - Casual  
At Encounter dress is casual, so come as you are. You'll see people wearing shorts, jeans, polos, t-shirts, and business casual, so you'll be welcome no matter what you're wearing. Most men will be dressed comfortably as if you were hanging out with friends.

Ladies - Casual  
Again no matter what your background you'll find individuals who will be wearing everything from jeans to dresses.  Most of the ladies will wear something like what you'd wear hanging out with friends.

HOW DO I GET THERE?

Encounter Church meets inside of the North Central Indiana Adult & Teen Challenge Facility.  It's convenient to get to from either the Toll Road or the Bypass.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET THERE?

Arrival/Parking - Once you arrive, you'll find some clearly marked signs pointing you where to go in. You'll also see our friendly greeters who will be able to point you forward from there.

Inside - Tables with name tags will be in the foyer once you enter the building. Grab a name tag and into the cafeteria where our worship gathering and kids are together.   Feel free to grab some refreshments, enjoy the music, read about upcoming events up on the screens, and complete as much information as you feel comfortable sharing on the Connection Card (which we'll collect at the end of the worship gathering).  We'll start at 10:00 am. 

WHAT'S THE SERVICE LIKE?

Our services last around 75 minutes and are geared so we can all have a fresh encounter with God and his people.
  • Music - We love to celebrate and worship God. One of the ways we do is through music.  We usually start our gathering with a couple songs that you are welcome to sing along with or simply listen, reflect, and enjoy. The words will be on the screens so you can follow along.
  • Message - We know that it’s hard to come into a new place and not know what they are talking about, so we continue to work hard to make sure that everyone is on the same page.  After the music is done, someone will give the information that you need to know, they'll pray, and then there will be a message from our pastor.  Our pastor has worked really hard to make sure the message is simple, clearly communicated, and relevant to your life or those you encounter. That doesn't mean that it'll be boring though. The message will take a biblical principle or passage and explain it in such a way you'll be able to walk away and put it into action.  We often have a question or two and some discussion time around the tables as part of the message to help apply what was taught. 

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?

We're not going to judge you based on how much you do or do not know about God or the Bible.  You are welcome just as you are.  We are a community that is learning and growing together. So no matter where you are on your journey, you are welcome.
